The company started under different name over a decade ago as a brainchild of it's managing partner Leo Stepanov, himself a professional interpreter and management consultant, who has been building it up steadily over the last ten years. He works with three European and two Asian languages and outside of the company he is also involved in media projects, architectural lighting design, event management and numerous cultural activities.
The company had it humble beginnings on the construction sites in China and Africa in the middle of 90's, where our partners worked for UN and humanitarian projects, taking part in economic aid programs for developing nations.
The company has firmly established itself in Macau market as provider of legal translating and interpreting services after transfer of sovereignty in 1999 which resulted in sharp demand of professional linguistic services in both of Macau's official languages: Portuguese and Chinese.
Our expertise in legal translations and interpreting has been growing ever since, and the company is proud to possess and nurture a unique cross-border linguistic knowledge base that not only establishes an unusual union of English, Cantonese, Portuguese and Mandarin, but also reaches across legal systems interconnecting common, continental, Chinese and international laws.
Our rapidly growing client base demanded swift diversification of services, which was quickly achieved through professional qualifications and international experience of our partners. With the latest addition of media productions to the local scene, Macau Translations now offers a number of services that are in high demand among media power houses and corporate clients alike.
Macau's latest transformation into a major tourism destination brought along international sport competitions, exhibitions, conferences and business tourism. In response to these latest developments, Macau Translations provides highly skilled international level interpreters and executive assistants to satisfy ever growing demand in international events and communications.
